What’s ahead for Delaware (and Technical.ly’s other markets) in 2015 [Podcast]

This month’s Technical.ly Podcast features a discussion with Technical.ly reporters from all five of our sites: Delaware, Philly, Baltimore, Brooklyn and D.C.

This month’s Technical.ly Podcast, “Our predictions for 2015,” features a discussion with Technical.ly reporters from our five markets: Delaware, Philly, Baltimore, Brooklyn and D.C. In it, we share our our thoughts for the year ahead.
You’ll also hear from tech leaders from some of our markets, as they explain what’s growing and changing in their respective communities.
Editorial director Christopher Wink and I talk downtown Wilmington revitalization, funding challenges and the possibility of startups coming and going. We also tap into the Delaware narrative — how the First State’s tech community is growing differently than the four other urban markets we cover.
We discuss the played-out trend of cities calling themselves “the next Silicon Valley” and the need to stop comparing one city to another. From many sources I’ve talked to, Delaware isn’t in this competitive game. Many Delawareans simply pride themselves on not being New York City or Washington, D.C.
But, we ask during the podcast, would a more competitive edge bring more technology and startups into Delaware?
We close out the podcast with a fun fact from each market. I mention Zach Phillip’s video studio, The Kitchen, which is located on the platform of the Wilmington train station. I also may or may not have mentioned a Delaware staple: bumping into Joe Biden on that very platform.
