Time for public comment on the broadband plan!
You know about the Delaware Broadband Initiative. You might not know, unless you subscribe to Delaware Broadband Office Director Roddy Flynn’s newsletter, that the office is moving closer and closer to gaining access to the $107 million in federal money that will connect every Delawarean to high-speed internet.
Among the steps the state has to clear are multiple 30-day public comment periods on the initial proposal. The Initial Proposal Volume 2 (IP2) for public comment has been shared. If you want to give feedback, go over the aforelinked proposal and email comments to the address in the document.
The document is large, covering subgrant applications, growing the Delaware workforce, climate change risks, outreach and making sure access is affordable to everyone.
Comments are due by Nov. 13 at 11:59 p.m. Based on that feedback, the office will make edits to the plan as necessary before submitting it for approval to the National Telecommunications and Information Administration.
