Maryland Health Connection, the state’s health insurance exchange website, has been sluggish and tedious for users since it launched Oct. 1, a result of glitches within the system.
Carolyn Quattrocki, executive director of the Governor’s Office of Health Care Reform, told Capital News Service that “information technology teams are working around the clock to resolve web site issues.” State officials met Wednesday to “discuss problems with enrollment through the state’s online health insurance marketplace.”
As of Oct. 11, 1,121 Maryland residents had enrolled in healthcare plans via Maryland Health Connection. According to the Maryland Health Benefit Exchange, which is coordinating the implementation of the Affordable Care Act in Maryland, more than 25,000 people have created accounts on the health connection website.
