Changes at 1111 Light Street: Riskive expands, BTS Software moves

The cybersecurity startup spent almost nine months inside the Betamore incubator before moving down one floor at 1111 Light Street. Its replacing BTS Software Solutions, which, according to a former staffer, consolidated its offices in Columbia, Md.

Riskive, now in the former Baltimore office of BTS Software Solutions.
Full disclosure: Betamore cofounder Mike Brenner is a partner with Technically Baltimore, which works on occasion from the Federal Hill incubator.
Updated 9/25/13 @ 9:19am: An earlier version of this story incorrectly identified a source, who is a former BTS staffer, not current.

Cybersecurity startup Riskive, which has acquired contracts, venture funding and 20 employees since launching in January 2013, now has a new office, said CEO James Foster.
Its new digs are one floor below its old: the third floor of 1111 Light Street, underneath the Federal Hill incubator Betamore on the fourth floor, and inside the former Baltimore city office of BTS Software Solutions.
A former BTS staffer told Technically Baltimore that BTS, which makes mobile communication technology for the private sector and the federal government, “has consolidated all offices” to its headquarters in Columbia, Md. We’ll update with a clarification from BTS when we have one.
Additionally, Sean Lane is no longer CEO of BTS. Lane is a cofounder of Betamore and one of four partners in early-stage venture firm OSTP Ventures. Lane told Technically Baltimore that he is still Chairman of the Board at BTS, but cofounder and fellow OSTP partner Craig Cummings is “taking his turn at the helm.”
Lane is now in Ohio working on a new startup, CrossChx, a health IT company that makes a scanner for hospital patients’ fingerprints, which are then linked to patients’ electronic health records to prevent medical identity fraud.
