After a high profile nearly two years as president of Philly Startup Leaders, Bob Moul is leaving the volunteer effort, but he’s keeping it in the Boomi family.
Moul, who was CEO of Berwyn-based cloud computing company Boomi during its acquisition to Dell and is now chief at Old City mobile backend provider Artisan, will be replaced by Boomi’s founder Rick Nucci.
Nucci, currently a venture partner at FirstMark Capital, has been around Philadelphia area technology since 1999, and he plans on launching his next startup in Philadelphia, according to the official announcement and previous reports.
Moul represented a big step forward for PSL, from a fledgling group of 30-somethings to a seasoned veteran who was more easily embraced by the Nutter administration. Nucci, if not as polished as Moul, would likely be a continuation of that trend.
Moul will move on to board chair, replacing one of PSL’s founders, Chris Cera, continuing the maturing of the network of regional entrepreneurs. Moul has said he wants to focus more on Artisan, his current venture, and still have some family time, before perhaps going on to other goals.
