The main theme of 2013’s top Philly business headlines?

Tech, tech, tech.

The city’s economic development agency, the Philadelphia Industrial Development Corporation, made a video recapping Philly business highlights from 2013. Watch it below. (It’s not the sleek, highly-produced branding videos you’ve seen before, but rather a simple collection of screenshots that might have been made on iMovie.)

Nearly every headline has a connection to the technology scene:

The focus on tech reminds us of the city’s new marketing campaign, PHL: Here for the Making, which draws attention to Philly’s technologists and makers. Once again, those in charge are championing the tech scene. It seems like they’re working to make Philly tech front and center of the city’s identity.

Find the city’s press release on the video here.
