Jobs are what Gov. Jack Markell sees moving Delaware forward in 2015. That’s according to a new video message he released this month on YouTube, outlining his yearly goals.

Solutions to strengthen Delaware for 2015 and 2025 are different than those that worked in 1985 and 1995.

Markell said he believes all Delawareans deserve quality work and the chance to reach their full potential. For 24 months, Delaware’s job growth has outpaced the nation’s growth, he added.
Markell specifically highlighted the technology sector in his remarks, noting the increase in jobs available in IT and data analytics, banks or at one of Delaware’s new startups. He also applauded the University of Delaware’s STAR Campus for employing residents in the fields of healthcare, manufacturing and tech.
“As we begin 2015, I’ll be proposing that we think differently about our challenges; that we recognize that solutions to strengthen Delaware for 2015 and 2025 are different than those that worked in 1985 and 1995,” Markell said. “As a native Delawarean, I know we are up to the task.”
