This map looks at life expectancy in Baltimore neighborhoods and other countries

And the results might shock you.

Sandtown Winchester residents have the same life expectancy as North Koreans. Wow.
That’s one takeaway from a new map produced by the Capital News Service.
See the map
The map, built using Baltimore City Health Department data from 2013 and data from the World Health Organization, equates life expectancy stats in specific Baltimore neighborhoods with the same figures in foreign countries.
The lowest life expectancy is 66 years in both the Downtown/Seton Hill neighborhood and Greenmount East. Those figures match India and Pakistan, respectively.
Given the population difference between the two areas, it’s an interesting stat. In Cross Country-Cheswolde, the 85 years is higher than any other country.
