Sometimes it seems like there is so little we can do to actually change anything, but here’s a real opportunity to that end.
The Mozilla Foundation is accepting applications for its open web fellowship program to advocate for the benefits of open source code and open data at organizations and companies that matter.
According to the Mozilla Foundation, the program “empowers the next generation of open Internet leaders and advocates by embedding them at leading human rights and civil society organizations from around the world, where they can positively impact the health of the Internet and bring critical strategic expertise to the organization.”

Unlike a lot of fellowships, this one pays a real salary: $60,000 and benefits for the 10-month fellowship, so people who would like to leave a job but aren’t sure how they could make it work really could do this.
Applications are open until May 21.
