The League of Women Voters is bringing in some new technology that provides information to voters.
The D.C.-based organization is absorbing the technology and assets of e.the.people, which provides software to create digital voter guides. The acquisition was a gift, according to the League.
e.the.people, which is a nonprofit, provides voter guide technology. It’s used mostly by news organizations, and other orgs that look to distribute info about candidates, as well. One of those was the League of Women Voters. The organization has always put out voter guides. As more info becomes available digitally, the League used e.the.people’s software to power its voter guide at Vote411.org.
Now, the League will manage the software, as well as e.the.people’s partnerships.
“Direct management of the technology will allow us to enhance the product for the League, as well as the many current and future partners of e.thePeople,” Chris Carson, chair of the League of Women Voters, said in a statement.
With the deal, e.the.people’s director of partnerships will join the League of Women Voters, said Sarah Courtney, League of Women Voters Senior Director of Communications and Digital Strategy.
