Byte Back had a big year picking up a WeWork Creator Award, plotting a Maryland expansion and moving into a new space. It’s not over yet. On Giving Tuesday, Nov. 28, the D.C. nonprofit Byte Back is conducting a 24-hour fundraiser to support its continuing computer training and career services for District residents.
“Your Giving Tuesday donation directly helps students like Patrice, who was struggling to find her path before taking classes at Byte Back,” said Elizabeth Lindsey, executive director of Byte Back. “Thanks to the giving spirit of our community, she got free training, earned certifications, and received job support to start her career in tech. She’s one of hundreds of Byte Back students who benefit from our services each year.”
Byte Back, now in its twentieth year, provides free computer training and career counseling.
When happy hour rolls around, Local 16 DC will be donating 10 percent of its sales from 6 -10 p.m., and online donations can be made here. Seventy five percent of the donations go toward education programming.
