More than 75 Philadelphians are fasting for local and federal immigration reform as part of the New Sanctuary Movement‘s 40 Days of Action, Fasting, and Prayer campaign. The Kensington-based interfaith immigrant rights organization launched a Tumblr to introduce the city to the campaign participants, who explain in a series of videos what immigration reform means to them.
As we’ve seen with Faces of the Layoffs, the website dedicated to introducing Philadelphians to the more than 3,800 School District staffers who have been laid off, social media can be one way to give a human face to issues in the news.
