Mayor Bill de Blasio convened the first meeting of the NYC Tech Talent Pipeline advisory board last week. It hews strongly toward the big guns of the tech community, but it’s still a long list.
The only Brooklyn companies to take part were Etsy, Kickstarter and Livestream, each of which were represented by their CEOs. The meeting took place on Thursday at the LinkedIn office in Manhattan, according to Crain’s.
The collective volume of private-sector influence on the advisory board is something that was commonplace under the Bloomberg administration, but is striking for Mr. de Blasio and his team, who have had an uneasy relationship with Silicon Alley, and even some members of the Tech Talent Pipeline board.
