The DelDOT app gets more user-friendly for 2018

With three major updates in time for the long winter stretch, it's time to download the app.

The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) app has been making winter driving a little easier for years now, with its travel map that lets you track snow plows, road closures and weather hazards. It’s evolved from scrappy little app to something pretty invaluable, with features like real-time Dart bus mapping, streaming traffic radio, issue reporting, driver’s exam preparation and access to Waze reports.

Using the app to check for advisories is another major feature, especially in the winter — and finding advisories on the app’s interactive map was a nightmare in the winter, when pins on top of pins pile up on the map. The updated Travel Advisory map is inverted: You start with a clear list of advisories, and clicking on one will take you to it’s location on the map. Much better.

If you have a streetlight issue to report, the updated app will now suggest nearby streetlights to speed up the process.

Finally, the Delaware DMV practice test is now available on the app in English, Spanish and Haitian Creole, making it accessible to more Delawareans.
