The first result of Social Tables CEO Dan Berger’s invite-only town hall with local tech execs has been released, and it’s an open letter addressed to President Donald Trump.
“The startup ecosystem in the United States thrives with the inclusion of immigrants who have come here to lead, innovate, design, build, create and give us a unique advantage in building great companies and opportunities,” the letter reads. “Mr. President, your outlook, policies and comments regarding immigrants as well as the recent Executive Order have sowed chaos and uncertainty in our industries.”
The letter is signed by 28 local companies including Social Tables, Contactually, UrbanStems, Aquicore and more.
The meeting on Feb. 10 also led to the creation of a to-be-named organization, the Washington Business Journal reports. According to the article, “Berger envisions an organization that puts together a pool of resources and engages in a larger organization effort.”
It’s a bit unclear to us what this means, so we’ve reached out to members of the organization for comment. What is clear is that this is part of the tech sector’s continued response to a policy many view as antithetical to innovation.
