Whistleblower and Moscow-airport enthusiast Edward Snowden has been offered asylum in Venezuela, but he has to get there first.
That’s where this Indiegogo campaign comes in. We guess.
You’ll recall that Snowden is the former Ellicott City resident and former National Security Agency contractor who leaked secret documents about the PRISM data-collection program run by the federal government.
He’s been taking refuge inside Sheremetyevo airport in Moscow for some time now, but an Indiegogo campaign managed by a neuroscientist at the University of Oxford in England is looking to raise $200,000 over the next eight days to pay for Snowden’s airfare and legal fees.
A pro-tip, assuming the money is raised: fly commercial, Snowden.
