It’s just over a month away and Code for DC is already preparing for the 2016 National Day of Civic Hacking.
The D.C.-based branch of Code for America will host a hackathon on June 4 — all problem-solvers welcome.

D.C. is just one of a bunch of cities from Tulsa, Okla., to Honolulu, Hawaii, that will be participating in this year’s National Day of Civic Hacking. Per its website, Code for America has prepared six challenges it’s looking for help on. According to the site, “these challenges are related to getting a better idea of what digital government services are like and how they differ across the country.”
More specifically, they range from making the process of applying for victim compensation easier to making applying for a business license easier. Code for America hopes to bring all the projects together after all is said and done to tell the “story of digital government services in America.”
And remember — Code for DC is not just for the coders among us. Rather, the hackathon will welcome “anyone with the passion to make our city better.” Are you a journalist, lawyer, community organizer or designer with a passion for making our city better?
