Fresh on the heels of the National Day of Civic Hacking comes another major civic-tech event in the Wilmington area: Code for America is hosting its first Brigade Congress Oct. 13–15 in Philadelphia.
The event offers the chance for civic-minded technologists to help shape the international nonprofit’s priorities.
Get tickets
Technical.ly is joining Code for America as an organizing partner of the event. Tickets are $100, though there is also a pay-what-you-can model for active brigade members. The weekend will be an unconference featuring CfA brigade volunteers from around the world, joined by civil servants, civic technologists and other leaders.
Be ready to share your stories on what has worked, what hasn’t and how we can apply those lessons to future wins. We’ll talk about shared values and learn how brigades across the country are working for change.
One of the goals of the Congress will be to build alignment around the CfA network’s core vision, mission, values and operating principles, so organizers are sharing this draft for feedback. Details on submitting sessions will come as the event date nears, said CfA Brigade Manager Christopher Whitaker.
After you grab those tickets, RSVP for the opening reception, too. Looks like Delaware’s Chris Williams is already signed up.
