Awww yeah, take that, G train!
Citi Bike, ubiquitous in South Williamsburg and Downtown Brooklyn, is pushing out for the territory, expanding north into Greenpoint and North Williamsburg and east into Bedford-Stuyvesant.
In 2013 Citi Bike launched with 6,000 bikes, mostly in Manhattan, south of 59th Street. It’s planning on doubling that size by the end of 2017, pushing up to Harlem, to the river-facing neighborhoods of Queens, and above all, oh yeah, jackpot, all over Brooklyn.
By the end of the month Williamsburg will have 33 new stations, Greenpoint will have 20 and Bed-Stuy will have 26.
In the works are stations in: Crown Heights, Gowanus, Park Slope, Cobble Hill, Red Hook, Boerem Hill, Carroll Gardens and Prospect Heights.
