For almost five years, Carol Ott has been publicly shaming negligent landlords who do nothing to fix up derelict properties they own via her Baltimore Slumlord Watch blog.
It’s a job that is equal parts fulfilling and arduous. As she told Technically Baltimore in October: “I’ve thought about giving up several times over the past couple years, but then I think, it would just be one more person who gave up on a city that perhaps needs as much help as it can possibly get.”
On Monday night, Ott was on the CBS Evening News to talk about her mission to “showcase the worst of this city” as a way to encourage the rebuilding. Read the story here, and watch the video below.
