The Benjamin Franklin Museum has re-opened in Old City after a two-year, $23 million renovation.

The museum, next to Franklin’s historical home from the late 1700s, is an homage to the inventor, diplomat and philosopher. It’s decked out with computer animations, interactive displays and personal artifacts, and the museum guide and mascot, Skuggs the Squirrel, even has his own Twitter account.

Much of the marketing heft is coming from the museum National Park Service staff working with GPTMC, the region’s tourism arm.

Learn more about the museum here. Admission costs $5 for adults and $3 for children. It was previously free and, as Technically Philly staff can confirm, wholesome, if dated. Here’s to an updated look at our most popular alumnus.
