After temporarily shutting down this fall, the Baltimore Bike Share is planning to end the year by adding more stations.
According to a member newsletter, nine new stations and an unspecified number of new bikes are set to come online during the month of December.
Leaders were eying expansion for the year-old bikeshare program earlier this year, but got delayed by a rash of thefts and maintenance issues which left so few bikes that the whole system to take a pause. Bikes started rolling out again in November, and the bikeshare’s Twitter account stated all of the docks were reactivated by Dec. 1.
The new installations are set to begin on Friday, Dec. 15, according to the Bikeshare. Here’s the breakdown of where they will appear:
Downtown:
- A station will be installed at the Charles Center metro station.
Stations are being added in Mt. Vernon and Station North, including:
- Chase St. and St. Paul St.
- Varsity on Biddle (1200 Maryland Ave.)
- North Ave. and Maryland Ave.
- St. Paul and Madison Sts.
In South Baltimore, stations are being added at:
- Ostend St. and Light St.
- Charles St. and Fort Avenue
In East Baltimore, stations will appear at:
- Betty Hyatt Park (near E. Baltimore St. and Broadway)
- Perkins Homes (1407 Gough St.)
