The average travel time to work in the United States is 25.4 minutes, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. Use this map from WNYC to enter your town or zip code to find commute times for your area.

If you’re in your city center, your commute is probably below the national average. If you’re in the near suburbs, your commute time is likely just above.

Despite those differences, it’s remarkably how little difference there is an average commute time according to this WNYC data map visualization.
