One of the main differences between working as a technologist for the city versus a private company?
As Philly’s Civic Technology Director (and former Code for America fellow) Aaron Ogle puts it: “The user is our neighbor.”
In a talk on the main stage at last week’s Code for America Summit, Ogle talked about what he’s learned in his first year in city government, working on the redesign of Phila.gov.
“For us, the user is not a transaction or an ad click,” he said. “The user is our neighbor and the better we can serve them, the stronger our communities will be.”
