Google, LO3, uPort and Artsy are all hiring right now in NYC

From blockchain to art, the jobs are waiting for you.

Your new company, inviting you to the team.

On the Market is a Technical.ly column where we highlight new and noteworthy job openings and the people who are lookin’. Got a submission? Email us and tell us why it belongs in the roundup.

LO3 has five open positions in engineering and product management.

Split between Brooklyn and Portland, Ore., LO3 is building a mesh electric grid with a new approach to metering, and with transactions based on an open ledger on the blockchain. The young company has also been raising money prodigiously, with $955,000 in the spring of last year and then a healthy $5.8 million this winter.

In January, we named the company as one of the 10 Brooklyn blockchain startups you should know about.

uPort also has five open positions, mostly for developers.

uPort is working on one of the most ambitious projects conceivable in the blockchain ecosystem: decentralizing one’s identity.

Cofounder Rouven Heck wants uPort to be a sort of virtual passport on the blockchain. Personal information and data could be stored there and accessed and released only by the user, rather than by third parties like Facebook, healthcare providers and even the government.

It, too, made our top 10 Brooklyn blockchain startups list.

goTenna is hiring for a director of people and head of customer success.

If it feels like we write about goTenna hiring every week, that’s not far off. The company has been growing constantly through 2017 and into this year. goTenna builds radio beacons that can be used off the grid and made into a mesh network. The Downtown Brooklyn-based company was founded by Daniela Perdomo.

Google is hiring five “exceptional creatives.”

It’s part of a program called Google Creative Lab, and it hires five people for 12-month contracts to work with each other and a mentor to create something interesting.

Artsy is hiring for 26 positions in New York.

The online art gallery, auction house and publication may not be based in Brooklyn, but we’d bet a good number of its employees live here. The company is hiring for any kind of job role you can name, from data analysts to staff writers to engineers.
