Notation Capital brings on Sib Mahapatra as venture fellow.

At the same time Notation Capital announced a new, $27 million fund, it also announced that Sib Mahapatra is coming on as a venture fellow.

Mahapatra comes to Notation after working on new ventures for real estate startup Redfin and cofounding Recess Labs at Grand Central Tech.

“Nick and Alex have an incredible combination of market sense, product intuition, and hands-on tactical experience taking companies from pitch deck to product,” he wrote in an email to Technical.ly. “It’s been fantastic to work with them and benefit from their deep roots in NY tech as I get settled.”

Fred Benenson returns to Brooklyn as a Kickstarter Fellow.

The Greenpoint crowdfunding company’s second-ever hire returns after a year and a half stint on the West Coast working at Y Combinator to work on the next version of the company’s creator dashboard. When Benenson left Kickstarter in 2016, he was the VP of Data at the company, and his work as a fellow will have to do with building data analytics for creators on the platform.

Kickstarter explains the fellow role as something akin to a “visiting scholars program at a university.”

Pilotworks hires Kate Ray.

Brooklyn tech fave Kate Ray will join the growing team at Pilotworks (formerly known as FoodWorks) at the company’s quickly growing HQ in the Pfizer Building in Bedford-Stuyvesant.

Ray is the creator of some interesting and clever projects. Her iPhone app Where Is Williamsburg? locates the Williamsburg of cities around the globe, and of Floodlight, a site she’s working on to make it easier to solve the collective action problem of reporting sexual harassment or abuse in the workplace.
