On the Market is a Technical.ly column where we highlight new and noteworthy job openings and the people who are lookin’. Got a submission? Email us and tell us why it belongs in the roundup.

uPort is hiring for a senior product designer.

One of the most ambitious projects conceivable in the blockchain ecosystem is what uPort is working on: decentralizing one’s identity.

Founded by Rouven Heck, uPort wants to be a sort of virtual passport on the blockchain. Personal information and data could be stored there and accessed and released only by the user, rather than by third parties like Facebook, healthcare providers and even the government.

Eyebeam has two open positions.

The Brooklyn art and tech institution is looking for a technology associate and a curatorial fellow. Could that be you? Help Roddy Schrock and the team settle into their new digs in Bushwick.

JustFixNYC is looking for a senior developer.

Fresh off a six-figure win at the WeWork Creator awards, JustFix.nyc is looking to bulk up its operations for the year that comes. We caught up with cofounder Georges Clement last month, who said the company, which makes it easier for renters to deal with problem landlords, will be looking to grow its user base.

Gitcoin is hiring for a software engineer.

The Ethereum-based blockchain company wants to build a distributed network of smart contracts to help job hunters find work and help open source contributors to make a living wage. The startup recently snagged veteran developer Eric Berry to work on the effort.

Common has no fewer than 17 open positions.

The coliving leaders have added three houses in the last few months, two in Brooklyn and one in Washington, D.C., as they continue to dominate the market for flexible, shared living arrangements. We ranked Common as the No. 2 startup in Brooklyn for 2018. The company has also been on a hiring tear recently, adding Eric Rodriguez as its first director of sales in December.

Gimlet is looking for a reporter and producer for its Science Vs podcast.

Science Vs takes on the fads of the day and counters them with Real Science. According to Gimlet, the show answers questions like, “What is causing the obesity epidemic? Does the G Spot exist? Is hypnosis real? Does gun control work? We take science seriously, but not ourselves.” It’s been quite a year for Gimlet, and we expect more big things to come from the company in 2018, as we placed it No. 6 on our top startups in Brooklyn list.

SuperData has seven open positions.

SuperData offers reports and insights on video game market data, which sounds like a pretty cool gig tbh. They’re hiring for all kinds of folks.
