Power Moves: Agrilyst hires Mikhail Hutton, Nathan Bashaw to Gimlet Media, Cassie Marketos rejoins Kickstarter

Some big moves at Brooklyn's top tech companies this week.

Power Moves is a Technical.ly column highlighting leadership moves in Brooklyn’s tech scene. Got an announcement? Email us at brooklyn@technical.ly.

Agrilyst hires Mikhail Hutton as VP of customer success.

Agtech startup Agrilyst adds a senior member to its small team with Hutton, who comes most recently from a customer success position at Quantcast.

“I’ve known Allison since last year and was always very impressed with her leadership and vision for what the future of farming can look like,” Hutton told Technical.ly, speaking about Agrilyst founder Allison Kopf. “Agriculture is one of the key industries where data and technology can have a huge positive impact on all of society so joining this team was an easy decision.”

Nathan Bashaw heads to Gimlet Media to be its head of product.

Bashaw had been working on an electronic book startup when Gimlet Media snagged him as head of product. He has worked previous as a project manager at General Assembly.

Cassie Marketos rejoins Kickstarter as VP of community strategy.

Marketos was the first employee Kickstarter hired, back in 2009. She went on to work at the White House as the deputy director of digital outbound. At Kickstarter, Marketos will focus on Drip, the company’s Patreon competitor product (more on that later).
