Nearly two years after the civic-tech leader left Philadelphia City Hall for the Brooklyn Public Library, she's moving on to the private sector.

Story Bellows will take her talents to the private sector, her new employer, CityFi, announced Tuesday.

After nearly two years as chief innovation and performance officer at the Brooklyn Public Library, Bellows will become a principal at the civic consulting firm.

According to its website, CityFi offers “advice, strategic thinking, and relationship building in the areas of municipal innovation, the business of great cities, and community empowerment.”

Prior to the library, Bellows had been called a “civic tech rock star” by our Philadelphia counterpart, Technical.ly Philly, for her work in the Michael Nutter administration’s Office of New Urban Mechanics. Bellows ran FastFWD, the buzzy social entrepreneurship accelerator initially backed by a million-dollar grant from Bloomberg Philanthropies.
