The New York Economic Development Corporation released the approval ratings of the new NYC Ferry system and they are: good.

According to the report, 93 percent of riders gave the ferry system a 7 or better on a scale of 1–10.

Some other interesting facts from the report:

  • More than half of peak hour riders (53 percent) use the ferry on a regular basis
  • The majority of off-peak riders (73 percent) are still trying it for the first time or are occasional users
  • Half of riders use the NYC Ferry mobile app to purchase tickets — though that number is slightly higher for peak hour riders (63 percent) and lower for off-peak riders (41 percent)
  • 87 percent of all riders who provided valid addresses live in New York City
