Brooklyn Public Library will add two Dog Parkers with doggo celebration this weekend

This Saturday, Dog Parker will install two of its state-of-the-art doghouses outside the Brooklyn Public Library, with a celebration of Bernese Mountain Dog proportions called “Pups On the Plaza.”

The library will hold a doggo fashion show starting at 10 a.m. and hosted by American Public Media reporter Sally Herships. Dogs dressed with a literary theme get special marks.

Dog Parker makes a high-tech doghouse available on a subscription model. Users running errands can put their dogs in a climate-controlled doghouse while they go inside stores or the library in locations all around Brooklyn.

The company was founded by Chelsea Brownridge and Todd Schechter, and has grown steadily in the past few years, adding more locations in the borough. Dog Parker went through the Entrepreneurs Roundtable Accelerator and raised more than $400,000 last year.

“Pups On the Plaza” will also include the startup Slobbr, which is sort of like Foursquare for dogs, and pupper portraits by Kate Gavino.
