How people in the Brooklyn tech world watched the eclipse

You can look directly at these pictures.

One thing that was nice about yesterday afternoon’s solar eclipse is that everyone more or less was doing the same thing at the same time and it wasn’t related to something Donald Trump said or tweeted for once.

Some really great pictures came across our feed from people in all parts of the Brooklyn tech world, some of them of the sun, but most of them of people looking at the sun.

Here’s what we did yesterday:

Carla Gannis is an artist and professor at Pratt. Last year she had a show on selfies.

David Plotz is the CEO of the Greenpoint web publication Atlas Obscura, which just had a nice fundraising round.

The Brooklyn Nets and parts of Condé Nast will be joining Sunset Park’s Industry City for the next rare cosmic occurrence.

The team at Lingo Live had a nice fundraising round earlier this year.

Workers got creative at Brooklyn Navy Yard–based New Lab.

An eerie photo from fake-news slayer Caroline Sinders.

The founder of the new Biotech Without Borders group enjoys the eclipse.

Seems like the folks at the NYC Media Center have a fine roof  garden down by the river in Dumbo.

Workers at Downtown Brooklyn’s CoLab-Factory can’t seem to stop innovating.

Brooklyn Bridge Ventures’ Charlie O’Donnell is ever on the lookout for a creative solution.

Hard to argue with Kate Ray, whose recent project about bookshelf mixtapes is also a look into other people’s worlds.

Sencity’s Steven Bai could be the Steve Jobs of interactive trash cans.
