Do you worry that screen time and digital culture is dismantling every promising axon and dendrite in your progeny’s brain?

No science claims here, but you’re probably right, it is.

A former Eyebeam fellow has a DIY electronics kit up on Kickstarter to help give your kids something to play with that will improve their lil brains. It’s called DIY Arc Reactor Kit, and it has raised $2,600 of an $8,600 goal.

“I found myself going to a toy store to buy yet another superhero toy,” creator Jung Eun Shin says in a video on her Kickstarter page.

An arc reactor is a fictional piece of technology from the Iron Man movies. In Shin’s kit, it can be made out of a simple circuit board, resistors, switches and LED lights.
