Want a slice of $70,000? That’s what’s on the table from the Small Business Association for the best startup pitches by woman-owned businesses next month in Brooklyn. Applications are still open.

Apply

The event is called the SBA InnovateHer Pitch Competition, which is a joint effort between the SBA and Brooklyn financial planning company Good Management and Investments. It will take place June 2 at Downtown Brooklyn coworking space CoLab-Factory.

“Female business owners are an important part of the economy,” the event’s organizers write. “Our company firmly supports diversity and our proud to assist the Small Business Administration in their venture to increase entrepreneurship among women.”

First place will receive $40,000, second place $20,000 and third place $10,000.

Good Management and Investments is itself a woman-owned business and the recipient of some women-aimed assistance. Its cofounder, Ebonique Ellis, was one of five women-owned companies to win free office space at CoLab Factory this winter.
