Craig from Craigslist joins Eyebeam in launching ‘fake news’–fighting media fellowship

There is no safe harbor for the news media. People on both sides of the aisle are critical of it, and even the media is critical of itself.

So with that in mind, Brooklyn arts and technology institution Eyebeam and Craig Newmark, of Craigslist, are launching a new fellowship to do R&D for the future of journalism.

“I’ve worked with a number of foundations and organizations to stand up for trustworthy news media and find ways to spot clickbait and deceptive news, and I’m excited to see how Eyebeam’s unique artist-led approach to the problem will generate results,” Newmark explains in Eyebeam’s announcement.

The fellowship will have three of four spots and run for a year. It will provide fellows with financial support, workspace and equipment.
