All-women’s club The Wing expands to Brooklyn

The company raised $8 million in venture money and will also expand to D.C.

The Wing is coming to Brooklyn, so if you’re on its 3,000-person-long waitlist, you might be in luck.

Exact location has yet to be announced, but according to New York Magazine, it will be in Downtown Brooklyn.

The company offers a mix of coworking, events and a social network for women and markets itself as a club rather than a coworking space. More than 650 women are members of the club, located in a 3,500-square-foot space by Gramercy Park in Manhattan.

“The Wing is your throne away from home. It’s an offline destination for women to build essential relationships, hatch plans and you know… run the world, together,” explains the company’s website.

The move follows an $8 million Series A venture investment in the company, which is good news for Brooklyn venture capitalist Charlie O’Donnell, who was an earlier investor.

The Wing was founded by former publicist Audrey Gelman and Lauren Kassan, who has worked in business development at ClassPass and elsewhere in the wellness industry.

The Wing is also expanding to Washington, D.C., which our sister site noted earlier today.
