It’s applyin’ time for game developers looking to bring their work to market. The NYU Game Center is now accepting applications for its summer incubator program.

“The purpose of the NYU Game Center Incubator is to bridge experimental work with the realities of the marketplace,” according to the Game Center. “The Incubator gives promising games time, space, guidance, and resources to maximize opportunities for commercial success.”

Those accepted will receive $6,000 for living expenses over the summer as well as a host of aid in professional services like marketing, legal, finance and public relations. The center notes that the opportunity is for games which are nearly ready to go, not for concepts or ideas.

“We’re looking for innovative projects that are finished or are close to finished and would benefit from a focused, final push to maximize their opportunity for commercial success,” it says.

Previous games to come out of the Game Center’s incubator program include several which have done well. Cognition was released last year and picked as a favorite by the App Store. Rewordable had a successful Kickstarter campaign and signed a publishing deal with an imprint of Penguin Random House.

The Game Center does take a share of future revenue above $10,000, though its percent is not stated and the center says it’s a level not to make money but merely to be able to fund the program.
