Applications are open until March 29 for a residency at Eyebeam, the Industry City-based arts and tech institution.
Eyebeam is offering $30,000 for the yearlong residency, for which artists must commit to working three days a week at the studio space.
This year’s theme is trust, as it relates to democracy, ownership or community.
“As institutions lose credibility, people are placing their faith in new myths,” the organization writes. “Multiple publics are in constant negotiation and agitation. It is critical to design methods for critique, communication and coordination towards a more open, inventive and just world.”

This past year’s residents included Mimi Onuoha, who worked on “dark data,” Macon Reed, who built a town of wood sculptures, and Morehshin Allahyari, who created an archive of dark goddesses and mythical figures.
