WeWork taps Brooklyn Bowl president to figure out how to make coliving work

The coworking giant looked for a fresh set of eyes in figuring out its coliving options. They found James Woods.

The former president of Brooklyn Bowl, James Woods, has joined WeWork to run the company’s coliving vertical, WeLive, according to a report in the Real Deal.

Woods, an NYU Stern graduate, had been the COO and president at the popular bowling alley, music venue and bar for the last five years, according to his LinkedIn.

WeLive has been a source of hot debate. When the company raised money in 2014, it reportedly told investors it planned to have opened 14 WeLive apartments, making up 12 percent of the company’s revenue by the end of 2016. As it happened, the company has only opened two: one in the Financial District and the other outside of Washington, D.C.
