Your 2016 guide to the Brooklyn tech scene’s best holiday parties

These nine parties will allow you to get to know the tech scene in an especially festive way.

The year 2016 is coming to a close and, though it’s getting mixed reviews on Twitter, plenty of good stuff happened in it, too. So go ahead and celebrate some of the great tech that happened this year and make some connections that will set you up for the year to come.

Saturday Dec. 10

  • Hacker’s Bash hosted by Eyebeam in Industry City. “Bring your power moves for this end-of-year bash. The only party you need to see your year out right.  We will deck the halls (and walls and tables) of Eyebeam with the inventions from our Holiday Hackshop and then open our doors your good selves.” Donation at the door.   • Wanted Design Holiday Market hosted by Industry City.“A design market including international, national and local brands offering a selection of accessories, unique gift ideas and design items for the home, lighting, small furniture and textiles. The visitors will be able to interact directly with makers, company ambassadors, and designers to discover the “behind-the-product” story.” Free and no RSVP necessary.
  • Bulletin Holiday Market hosted by Bulletin in Williamsburg. “Over sixty of New York’s best indie designers at the spanking new William Vale, a super futuristic, stunning hotel right along the Williamsburg waterfront.” Free and no RSVP necessary.

Wednesday Dec. 14

  • Ugly Sweater Party hosted by Daybreaker at Irving Plaza. “Fitness by Mark Fisher Fitness 6 – 7am. Dance Party 7 – 9am. Live Performances & Special Surprises. Free coffee, healthy juices & breakfast treats.” $25. Get tickets here.

Thursday Dec. 15

  • NYC UX Holiday Party hosted by IxDA NYC at Pivotal Labs. “Get ready to join the greater New York UX community as we kick off the holiday season. Last year, it was an amazing SOLD OUT event with over 270 attendees! So join us again this year and come share some UX stories over a drink or two, re-connect with old and make connections anew, perhaps find a new gig for the upcoming year but most of all enjoy some holiday cheer!”. $15.   • Brooklyn Swift + iOSoho hosted by Brooklyn Swift Developers Meetup in Williamsburg. “Join us for a night of drinks & video games at Barcade in Williamsburg for a joint holiday party with iOSoho!” Free. RSVP here.

Tuesday Dec. 20

  • 1776 NYC Holiday Party hosted by 1776NY at the Brooklyn Navy Yard. “Please join 1776 NYC to celebrate the holiday season at our beautiful beta campus. We’ll have some drinks and snacks, all while enjoying the best view in the city!” Free. RSVP here.
