You have two weeks to submit your pitch for good

December's Make It In Brooklyn Pitch Competition aims to give $5,000 to an impact-minded startup.

If you have an early-stage startup that you think will make the world marginally easier, less painful, or more equitable for the non-Blue Apron set, here’s an opportunity for you.
The Make It In Brooklyn Pitch Competition returns this December with Pitch For Good, a civic tech-oriented pitch competition. Five Brooklyn-based startups will get the chance to pitch a panel of judges, which, in the past, has included some of the very top names in the Brooklyn tech scene, for a chance to win $5,000 and, potentially, some very valuable relationships. The deadline to submit your pitch is Oct. 31.

Who should pitch? Make It In Brooklyn is looking for “a new and original business venture that targets a social, civic, or environmental issue and can able to demonstrate potential for positive impact.”
Make It In Brooklyn holds pitch competitions more or less quarterly. Last month’s winner was a Bed-Stuy-based food startup called Brooklyn Delhi, which makes achaar, described as “Indian pickles.” This summer’s winner was Humblee, a platform for video content.
The gatekeeper for pitches this time around is Su Sanni, the cofounder and CEO of nonprofit fundraising platform WeDidIt.
