Tonight: Change the color of One World Trade Center’s spire from Brooklyn Bridge Park

The National Park Service is giving you superpowers for a night.
As part of the federal agency’s 100th birthday celebration, head to Brooklyn Bridge Park and solve a puzzle on a giant circuit board that will let you change the color of the One World Trade Center building’s spire. It’s the first time the public will have a hand in controlling the spire’s color. (Also, Bill Nye will be there.)
The party kicks off at 1 p.m. and ends at 10 p.m.

The large-scale interactive art project reminds us of our sister site Technical.ly Philly’s Philly Tech Week 2014 event where people played Tetris on the side of a skyscraper.
(If you can’t make it to the event, you can catch a glimpse of the action via the Statue of Liberty’s live webcam of New York Harbor.)
If you’re more about creating your own kind of game, nonprofit Games for Change is hosting a hands-on “Smart Parks Game Jam” where you’ll get to learn the basics of game design and come up with a game to play outdoors.
Plus: ice cream via the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory and a DJ set by Questlove.
