Have you ever wondered who writes the music for your favorite video games?
Like any good movie score, the music in any level or setting is crucial to the storytelling and emotion gamers can experience.
That’s why the NYU Game Center has invited Los Angeles-based composer Austin Wintory to chat with students about his work on massively successful games like Journey — which holds the distinction as the first-ever video game soundtrack to be nominated for a Grammy Award — and Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate.
In his free talk, “Musings on Music, Games and Life,” Wintory will cover his creative process and how life intersects with his creative choices.

The event starts at 7 p.m. Thursday in the NYU Tandon School of Engineering building.
