Stealth-mode home automation startup Astro raises $350K [Startup Roundup]

Plus: Hong Kong money for synthetic meat startup Modern Meadow; Livestream making moves; and "hipster foods" galore.

Who’s getting money?

Astro, Inc., a stealth-mode startup, describes itself as some kind of home automation company on its LinkedIn page. The company raised $350,000 on a $1 million equity-only offer, according to an SEC filing. The filing lists two directors, Philip James and Shaun Springer. Springer describes himself as a software developer, entrepreneur and consultant on his Twitter page. The other director, James, may be this one, as both of them were previously at Lot18, a wine discovery company.

We wrote previously about the $12.6 million equity round for synthetic meat and leather startup Modern Meadow. Apparently the lion’s share of that funding, $10 million, came from Hong Kong’s Horizon Ventures, according to ECNS.com.

Who’s making moves?

Livestream has not let its move to Bushwick slow it down. We just wrote about an update to its embeddable player. The company also released Studio 2.0, an update to its software for managing live streams. This software updates allowances for multiple cameras, wired and unwired, adding in data layers and a graphics store. Download it here. Get the free version with two camera inputs or the full version, with five camera inputs, for $799. You can also now live stream from Google Glass.

In case you weren’t following the company that closely, Livestream is also a hardware company, offering several devices for managing the broadcast of live events over the Internet.

VHX has made it possible to sell pre-orders for films sold on the platform. We recently wrote about their newly launched stats page.

Wadjet Eye Games will release the first three adventures in the Blackwell series for iOS devices on July 10: Blackwell Legacy, Unbound and Convergence. Previously only available for PC, the game is in the process of being ported over to Mac, Linux and Android, as well. The rest of the games in the Blackwell series will be released in the Apple app store later this year. It recently came to a close, with Blackwell Epiphany.

Who’s getting buzz?

We’re deeply envious of the team at Business Insider who took a tour of Mouth, which we covered early on. The tour included a session sitting around the conference table and sampling a bunch of the e-tailer’s delicacies. Scroll down for an extensive photo tour of Mouth‘s Dumbo space, racks and racks of food and drink, its shipping process and more.
