Wellness blog raises nearly $2 million [Startup Roundup]

News from MindBodyGreen, VHX and Divas for Social Justice.

Who’s getting money?

Multichannel health and wellness site, MindBodyGreen appears to have raised roughly $1.87 million in equity, according to two separate SEC filings, made on the same day (first and second).

Stealth mode Zeppelin Group appears to be looking to raise another $100,000 in equity, according to an SEC filing. Technically Brooklyn can’t find a website that seems to be the same group (there’s an agency by the same name out of Germany). None of the executives listed on the filing can be clearly linked to anything called “Zeppelin.” The listing indicates its industry as “Telecommunications.” If successful, the round would follow up on $150,000 raised at the end of 2012, according to a previous filing.

Who’s making moves?

VHX rolled out a new way to buy movies on its site without leaving a site’s landing page, as we reported earlier.

In an email to users, HowAboutWe announced updates to its functionality on the couples side of its business. When we first wrote about HowAboutWe, we reported on how a major vertical for the company is helping couples find meaningful activities to keep their relationship strong. Now, the updated couples site allows users to search the kind of activity (such as dinners, tours, classes), search by times and an improved reservation system.

Who’s getting buzz?

Divas for Social Justice is working on a self-esteem app for girls of color, particularly for those who may not have strong support networks.

The Blue Ridge Foundation‘s Digital Prototype Opportunity winners, HealthLeads and Cool Culture, were covered by Fast Company. We covered the fund’s announcement in September and its progress in November.
