Technical.ly's second podcast episode takes Brooklyn's Diversity In/Tech conversation as its starting point.

Our Diversity In/Tech event last week served as the basis for the second episode of the Technical.ly Podcast. On the episode, the reporters across our three cities (Brooklyn, Philadelphia and Baltimoe) discuss a topic in tech moderated by our editor Christopher Wink.

You can now subscribe to our podcast on iTunes here. Or listen below.

Some issues we discussed on the show:

  • Pipeline – how are new communities getting access to the skills to access tech jobs?
  • Discourse – does the media marginalize leaders from underrepresented backgrounds by making too much of their identities?
  • Education – the system seems to be changing at the fringes and through grassroots action, but the broader public education system only seems to be talking about change.
  • Impact – tech sectors are growing and making money, but what is that doing for its neighbors who aren’t inside?
