Makeraser accessories for 3D printers [crowdfunding]

A two-man Brooklyn team has created a small suite of 3D printing accessories to deepen your making.

From the Makeraser Kickstarter page.

3D printing is cool, but it isn’t perfect. A small team here in Brooklyn is working on ways to address some of its imperfections. They call themselves Makeraser, and they have come up with a Kickstarter package with three different items to solve three 3D printers’ problems.

  • The Makeraser. It’s a sort of marker that slowly dispenses a fluid that smooths out 3D printed projects. 3D printing comes out with little bevels, where you can see the layers. This solution takes care of that by “erasing” the edges.
  • The Scraper. Getting projects off the print surface can be hard. In fact, sometimes it’s so hard that the project gets damaged. This scraper is designed to safely remove projects by pushing a sharp edge under them to separate them from the surface.
  • Makelastic. The team found a chemical solution that takes regular PLA printed projects and makes them rubbery. This GIF demonstrates it better than we can describe it:

For a pledge of $99, you can get the complete suite of 3D printing accessories. Support the Makeraser Kickstarter.
