MyBell’s latest prototype // $800k raise for Stkr.it [Startup Roundup]

Who’s getting money?

Stkr.it raised $810,040 on an offered $1.2 million offered equity round, according to an SEC filing. The company allows consumers to purchase codes that can then be linked to digital products, like photos or videos, and added to real world gifts. The Park Slope based company recently partnered with a yearbook company to make schoolbook signatures multimedia.

Who’s getting buzz?

Blue Apron gets a shout out on the LinkedIn blog, from its founders’ dad. We covered its $5 million investment round in August.

MyBell‘s appearance at the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show earned it a spot on VentureBeat. Check out the difference in the prototype shown there versus our initial coverage. The company’s Twitter recently reiterated its intention to launch a Kickstarter campaign.

Blue Ridge Foundation-based Kinvolved is making a software platform that improves communication between teachers and parents, particularly around school attendance. The venture won coverage in Forbes and The Journal Technically Brooklyn will be meeting with the founders soon.
