Digital Ready launches program in 3 Brooklyn high schools

Digital Ready is a new program under the NYC Digital umbrella meant to prepare public school students for digital careers. Three schools in Brooklyn will host the program.

Digital Ready is a new program under the NYC Digital umbrella meant to prepare public school students for digital careers. It launched at ten schools this fall, with a press conference at Brooklyn International High School. Of the ten schools in the program, three of them are in Brooklyn:

One of the partners at BIH will be The Beam Center, which will be running a Beam Works program from the school, where a group of teens will be chosen to learn the skills needed to construct a collaborative art project designed by master architects and artists, according to The Brooklyn Daily Eagle.

“Thanks to Digital Ready, students from Brooklyn International High School will learn programming, carpentry, metalwork and digital storytelling skills while building a giant interactive sculpture as part of our BeamWorks Project,” said Brian Cohen, co-director of Beam Center.

The Brooklyn International High School is also hosting the first ScriptEd program in the borough this semester.
