At the dd:Impact half-day conference, DigitalDUMBO showed a video of its new space, dd:Outpost, a coworking and event space with impressively flexible features. A cooperative project with Microsoft Bing, the space comes with some interesting amenities, including:

  • Xbox play on a 200″ screen
  • Office hours with senior executives
  • Turnstone lounge furniture

We reached out to DigitalDUMBO‘s CEO Andrew Zarick for more info on what sort of office hours with senior executives the community could participate in. He gave us this example from Oct.1st, where a principle from Microsoft Ventures came in, spoke, folks stuck around, worked, and had one-to-one meetings with him.

“We’ll be inviting execs from both Bing/Microsoft as our partner in this space, but also elsewhere on various topics. This will generally happen the first Tues. of each month,” Zarick said.

The space’s website describes it as an “immersive creative playground.” Precise details haven’t come out yet, but it will have some coworking days, ongoing events and some sort of “corporate pass.”

If you want to see the space, you can soon. dd:Collective has an event on natural user interfaces coming up on October 17th. The event will take place at dd:Outpost and explore how technology can become more and more invisible. Microsoft‘s Senior Director of Search, Stefan Weitz, will be one of the speaker’s at the event.
